In last week’s blog, I discussed how we have changed over the years and the different styles we’ve introduced to the entertainment industry. It’s important to note that while in the 90’s and early 2000’s we were introducing a new vehicle each year, the design concepts didn’t change much. Mainly due to the high demand in fashion, we just kept creating units that catered to print. As the internet developed, print started to die; and while some doors closed, many others opened. This led to the evolution of newer and better on-location vehicles.
Creating New On Time Units: The Process
Our process from that point is extensive. II won’t be giving any secrets away, but it does take a great amount of time and attention to detail. We bring in a team of experts for every possible need, but really, the work is done by the owners themselves. They do bring in additional help, but the owners are truly the most vital part of our creations. I think this adds the magical touch. No one takes care of their things like the owners themselves. By having them work intimately on each unit, they invest not only time and money but also care, which goes such a long way in this industry.
OTE creates on-location vehicles for fashion shoots, production, and greenrooms. For fashion, our focus is always informed by what we see on location. We provide vanities for hair and makeup, counter space for stylists, models, and staff to utilize, and wardrobe space for garments and couture. For production, we create units that adapt to tech, are conscious that power is of the highest importance, and give our clients a generous amount of outlets, working space for intimate settings, and the ability to cast to their monitors. For greenrooms, we freestyle it and create spaces that focus on relaxation and just kicking back.
The On Time Goal
OTE’s ultimate goal is to better aid our clients so they always create a final product that accomplishes their goals. In addition, our units positively affect talent by providing a great environment and assisting in positive events and successful productions.
Of course, our peers in this industry have their own processes, and ultimately, clients always prefer one vendor to another. Luckily, the clients who prefer OTE are conscious of what they want their project to be. We not only take the responsibility of holding their talent or providing their work space, but we also handle all additionals as well, from zoning and load-in to time management and budget awareness. Besides creating custom vehicles, we extend our services much further than most of our peers. This is important to know because that same mentality is applied to creating our vehicles.
We make units that are versatile because we want them to adapt and adjust where necessary. This is not necessarily the easiest thing to accomplish because of space limitations, slide outs, and vehicle layouts. Because the ultimate goal is to better assist our clients, we always create a final product that accomplishes its original tasks but also has the versatility to give more to a client if it is ever needed. Our units affect talent in a positive way. By providing a great environment, we aid in positive events and successful productions.
